Southwest Association
Find out what makes us stand out in the world of Group Homes & Supported Home Living.

Who We Are

At Southwest Association for the Developmentally Disabled, we’re not just another group home and supported home living provider – we stand out for a reason. Our well-located houses, housing 3–4 residents, cater to Intellectual Disability Disorder (IDD) children and adults aged 16+. We provide services appropriate for Social Security Income (SSI) and various insurance providers. Our comprehensive services include supported home living, host homes, and an engaging Individualized Socialization Skills (ISS) Day Hab program with social activities. Our residents’ needs are taken care of, and we provide them with the necessary support to lead fulfilling lives.

Additionally, we understand that caregivers need a break, too, so we offer a respite program for parents. With Medicaid funding and active participation in Texas Home Living and Community First Choice (CFC) programs, you can rest assured that your loved one is in good hands. We believe everyone deserves to live a dignified life and are committed to providing the best possible care to our residents.

Our Vision Statement

Organizational Overview / Philosophy

Southwest Association for the Developmentally Disabled is a non-profit corporation with two (2) dba’s Ultimate Living and St. Jude’s Palace, a licensed agency located in a Southwest subdivision of Houston, Texas. We started our Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) program for individuals with the diagnosis of intellectual and developmental disabilities in 1989 followed by our Home and Community Based Service (HCS) program in 1994 and the HCBS-AMH will be our newest project under our contract. We are committed to providing quality housing and services, as well as support, to enrich the daily lives of the people we serve. Therefore, our purpose is to offer a family-based environment in which they can thrive, that will open up opportunities in the community.
